DESCRIPTION:Upon graduating high school Roger spent over ten years in the U.S. Army as an infantry officer with\ncombat deployments to Iraq (Al Anbar) and Afghanistan (Wardak). \nIn eastern Afghanistan in 08-09 Roger served as the company commander for Dog Company of the famed\n“Band of Brothers” 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment. Roger was forced out of the Army in 2009 in lieu\nof a general court-martial after discovering an insider threat of no less than twelve spies on his forward\noperating base and taking matters into his own hands to root them out. \nRoger’s command knew of the spies for several weeks prior to his discovery\, but failed to notify him\ndespite Dog Company having taken over two dozen casualties through that point in time. \nOne of the spies found on Dog Company’s FOB was Captain Hill’s own government provided interpreter. \nIn 2018\, after a year long battle with the Pentagon to publish\, Roger and his coauthor New York Times\nBestselling Author Lynn Vincent published Dog Company\, A True Story of American Soldiers Abandoned\nBy Their High Command. \nDog Company is endorsed by former Delta Force Commander and Deputy Under-secretary of Defense for\nIntelligence Lieutenant General Ret. William G. They have 2 daughters; Olivia\, she is currently attending Law School in Chicago and Carly\, lives in Buckhead\, currently a Junior at Georgia State Univ\, pursuing a degree in hospitality and working full time. The Dolan family is passionate about volunteerism and giving back to the community.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a 5.5 mile walk through the woods on the Homestead Trail \nHomestead Trail This trail begins at the front porch of the park Visitor Center\, turns north for one mile\, crosses Lodge Road and then makes a 3.5 mile loop through some of the most beautiful areas of the park. The loop portion follows the lakeshore for approximately half its length. Completion of the loop brings the hiker back to the same one mile route to the front porch. This trail is named after one of several homesteads which were once located in the loop portion. Trail is blazed yellow and is not accessible to bicycles.
